Más del 90 % de docentes de secundaria en RD ya usan IA y otras tecnologías en el aula
Uso generalizado de tecnologías en secundaria dominicana
El 91.78 % del profesorado de secundaria en República Dominicana ya integra herramientas tecnológicas en sus prácticas docentes, destacando el uso creciente de inteligencia artificial (IA) generativa.
Así lo evidencia un reciente artículo científico publicado en la plataforma IEEE, derivado de una investigación nacional financiada por el Instituto Superior de Formación Docente Salomé Ureña (ISFODOSU).
El estudio, titulado “Perception of the integration of Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technologies in Dominican education from an ethical perspective” (Santana-Soriano, 2025), recoge los hallazgos de una encuesta aplicada a 754 docentes de secundaria en todo el país.
Herramientas más usadas: ChatGPT, Quizizz y Kahoot!
El artículo identifica las herramientas digitales más empleadas: ChatGPT (63.53 %), Quizizz (66.18 %), Padlet (58.75 %) y Kahoot! (57.69 %). Estas se utilizan con frecuencia semanal (40.58 %) y diaria (29.44 %) por una proporción significativa del profesorado.
Según los hallazgos, la tecnología apoya diversas áreas pedagógicas, incluyendo la planificación didáctica, la introducción de nuevos contenidos, la evaluación de competencias y la asignación de tareas.
Desafíos persistentes: acceso y formación
Pese al avance, el estudio también identifica limitaciones estructurales. Un 5.17 % del profesorado afirma no tener acceso a recursos tecnológicos en sus centros, y un 2.92 % señala falta de formación especializada como obstáculo para integrar estas herramientas.
Visión ética y riesgos asociados a la IA
La investigación fue liderada por el Dr. Edwin Santana-Soriano, con colaboración de la Dra. Katherine Báez-Vizcaíno, experta en métodos cuantitativos, y del Dr. Julián Álvarez, especialista en ética de la tecnología.
La Dra. Báez-Vizcaíno validó el instrumento estadístico, mientras que el Dr. Álvarez abordó los riesgos éticos de las tecnologías emergentes en el aula.
Uno de los hallazgos clave resalta que, aunque el uso de IA generativa es elevado, muchos docentes expresan inquietudes sobre su impacto en el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico, así como sobre la privacidad y seguridad de los datos estudiantiles.
