Servio Tulio advierte rompimiento de esencia democrática si funcionarios siguen haciendo campaña
Santo Domingo.- El vicepresidente ejecutivo de la Fundación Institucionalidad y Justicia (Finjus), Servio Tulio Castaños Guzmán, advirtió este jueves que si los funcionarios que están en campaña política no sufren las consecuencias de lo que establece la Ley Electoral, se podría volver a viejas prácticas que romperían la esencia democrática y dañarían la seguridad jurídica.
Castaños Guzmán exigió a los funcionarios públicos respetar la Ley Orgánica del Régimen Electoral que les prohíbe participar en actividades proselitistas en favor de un candidato o partido político.
Precisó que la Ley 15-19 Orgánica Electoral contiene normas que impiden, específicamente, prevalerse de un cargo público para realizar campaña a favor de uno u otro partido, agrupación o movimiento político determinado.
“Advertimos que ese comportamiento implicaría un agravio al principio de legalidad y a la naturaleza de sus funciones, lo que es contrario a la Constitución”, sostuvo el vicepresidente de Finjus al ser entrevistado en Hoy Mismo, de Color Visión.
