Más de quinientos pasajeros han sido reubicados y transportados de un total de mil trescientos atendidos en los mostradores de servicio al cliente de la Junta de Aviación Civil de la República Dominicana (JAC), que asumió durante el feriado del fin de semana, la atención a los pasajeros afectados.
El presidente de la Junta de Aviación Civil, Luis Ernesto Camilo, aclaró que la medida de alquilar aeronaves para transportar a los pasajeros se tomó para facilitar la situación durante el feriado del fin de semana, priorizando las rutas con menor conectividad.
Las autoridades dominicanas gestionaron el alquiler de dos aeronaves para transportar a 56 pasajeros con destino hacia Aruba y Curazao, durante el feriado del fin de semana, en tanto que la mañana de este martes 119 pasajeros fueron embarcados hacia los mismos destinos, y 80 se dirigirán hacia La Habana-Cuba.
La JAC informó que en los vuelos de retorno, se transportará una cantidad similar en ruta hacia Santo Domingo, logrado movilizar de esta manera más de 500 pasajeros.
Desde el departamento de comunicaciones del órgano regulador de la aviación JAC se explica que desde el 28 de enero en combinación con el Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil (IDAC), se iniciaron la gestión para el alquiler de una aeronave que sirve en este momento de transporte con capacidad de 56 asientos.
Camilo dijo que agradece la paciencia y el buen comportamiento de los pasajeros en el AILA, así como el trabajo de su personal de Facilitación y otras áreas que asumieron la responsabilidad que en principio le corresponde a la aerolínea.
“En lo adelante, corresponde a PAWA Dominicana asumir la responsabilidad moral y económica frente a sus usuarios, tal como establecen las leyes nacionales y la normativa aeronáutica”, precisó Camilo.
Invitó a los pasajeros con boletos comprados a dirigirse hacia las oficinas de PAWA Dominicana, como ellos mismos han solicitado por diferentes vías.
