Santo Domingo.- El presidente Danilo Medina exhortó ayer a los peledeistas y aliados no llevarse de que las encuestas lo dan ganador y levantarse bien temprano a votar por las candidaturas de esa organización política y sus aliados.
Al pronunciar unas breves palabras en el acto de cierre de campaña celebrado en el Disrtito Nacional, Medina llamo fervientemente a sus seguidores a madrugar a votar en la casilla numero dos.
Durante tres horas y media, el candidato presidencial Danilo Medina, junto a su esposa Cándida Montilla de Medina, recorrió casi seis kilómetros recibiendo el apoyo de miles de personas que lo esperaron a todo lo largo y ancho de las avenida Nicolás de Ovando, y las calles Duarte, Mercedes y Sánchez, hasta llegar al Malecón.
Además participaron, pero de forma separada, la candidata a la vicepresidencia, Margarita Cedeño y su esposo y presidente del PLD, Leonel Fernández.
También estuvieron presentes el candidato a alcalde del Distrito Nacional, Roberto Salcedo, y a la senaduría, Reinaldo Pared Pérez.
El presidente Danilo Medina, al término del recorrido, dijo que el Gran Santo Domingo le ha entregado su certificado de repostulación con el masivo apoyo expresado en las calles.
Afirmó que la manifestación de respaldo ofrecida al PLD en la caravana de ayer difícilmente se vuelva a repetir en la historia política de la República Dominicana.
Señaló que aunque tiene el 64% de las preferencias electorales, y que el 80% de las personas dicen que votarán por él, las elecciones se ganan con votos en las urnas.
“Les exhortó a no inventar con su voto, levantarse temprano y llevar sus esposos, novios, vecinos, amigos, hijos y demás. Tienen que ejercer su derecho a votar, vayan bien temprano a votar y ahora quiero pedirles otras cosas, no inventen con el voto, no fraccionen el voto. Cuando vayan a votar les van a entregar tres boletas, una boleta A, una B y una C, en la boleta A, marquen la casilla 2 del Partido de la Liberación Dominicana” explicó Medina a la multitud.
Medina levantó los brazos de los candidatos Roberto Salcedo y Reinaldo Pared Pérez, y pidió a los presentes que también boten por ellos en las respectivas boletas municipales y congresuales.
“Hay muchos que pueden decir, ¿para qué votar, si ya Danilo ganó? Danilo no puede ganar en la víspera. Cuando ustedes voten el domingo y voten morado, entonces Danilo será el próximo Presidente de la República”, dijo.
Manifestó que sus adversarios tienen la esperanza de que la gente no irá a votar por él, y que para que el país pueda seguir los cambios, hay que votar.
De su lado la candidata a la Vicepresidencia de la República, Margarita Cedeño de Fernández, expresó que por la simpatía y respaldo expresado por la gente en todo el trayecto de la caravana, está segura de que Danilo Medina seguirá presidiendo la República Dominicana.
“Yo creo que es un ambiente de expectativa, de júbilo, de sueños, de esperanzas, algunas cosas que a la oposición no le han salido bien, y que por supuesto tendrán que quejarse. Así que vamos a seguir adelante, que es una fiesta por la democracia, y ustedes lo ven con el pueblo en la calle masivamente, manifestando su aprecio y su apoyo a la obra de gobierno que hemos realizado. Por eso cuatro años más Dios mediante”, sostuvo.
Por otro lado, Cedeño de Fernández se mostró de acuerdo con cualquiera de las formas del conteo de votos por parte de la Junta Central Electoral. “La verdad es que tendemos al modernismo, y la modernidad nos impone lo electrónico, pero no estamos opuestos a que también sea manual”, dijo.
Sin embargo al presidente del Partido de la Liberación dominicana Leonel Fernández no se juntó en ningún momento con su candidato Danilo Medina.
Sin embargó Fenandez afirmó que con la caravana de cierre de campaña, esa organización asegura su triunfo de manera contundente en las elecciones del próximo domingo. Dijo que no tiene duda de que será una victoria en la primera vuelta lo que habrá el próximo día 15. “Yo estoy seguro que el PLD va a ganar estas elecciones con una alta votación”, dijo Fernández, y negó que el PLD haya instaurado una dictadura de partido, como dice la oposición.
