No habrá funeral para Ramón Aníbal Ramos; cremarán sus restos como lo pidió en vida
No habrá funeral para el apreciado y popular presentador de televisión y locutor de radio, emblema de la diáspora y la República Dominicana, Ramón Aníbal Ramos fallecido ayer martes 23 de febrero, en el hospital Jamaica de Queens. En cambio, sus restos serán cremados como él lo pidió en vida.
La información fue confirmada por el periodista Félix Grant quien coordina con autorización de la viuda de Ramos y los hijos del fallecido los arreglos de crematorio.
La muerte de Ramos mantiene conmovida la comunidad dominicana en Nueva York y en otros estados de Estados Unidos en los que su programa “El Show de Ramón Aníbal”, llegaba a través de los canales de televisión.
No solo fue un comunicador de gran estirpe, sino también un defensor de la comunidad, a veces controversial por su estilo claro y punzante.
Viajó a diferentes países del mundo cubriendo giras turísticas para promover las bellezas naturales de la República Dominicana, América Latina y algunos de Europa.
Siendo una de las voces más prestantes de la emisora Súper KQ en los años ochentas le hizo una entrevista no autorizada por teléfono al extinto líder del PRD, doctor José Francisco Peña, quien era amigo de Fidel Castro y eso, le costó el trabajo en la emisora debido a que el propietario Raúl Alarcón era uno de los líderes empresariales del exilio cubano radicado en Miami.
En el momento de su muerte, Ramón Aníbal se desempeñaba como coordinador con la prensa dominicana e hispana de la Asociación Nacional de Supermercados Hispanos (NSA) y el grupo médico SOMOS con cuyas entidades desarrolló un excelente trabajo, incluyendo los riesgos en el pico de la pandemia.
“Fue una voz genuina, transparente y muy directa a favor de la comunidad, oriundo de San Pedro de Macorís, una región muy importante en la República Dominicana y cuando me llamaron con la noticia me dio muy profundo”, expresó el congresista.
“Esperaba que él se iba a recuperar, pero es una gran pérdida para nosotros. Era muy querido en la comunidad. Fue un hombre solidario y una persona que siempre dijo presente en malos y buenos tiempos de la comunidad”, añadió Espaillat.
“Destacaba las cosas positivas, aunque era crítico, pero eso es muy importante y él siempre resaltaba lo positivo porque muchas veces solo se dicen cosas malas”, dijo.
“Tenía boca de león y corazón de algodón”, describió Corporán a Ramón Aníbal, añadiendo que se trató de una de las figuras de mayor incidencia de opinión en la diáspora dominicana en Estados Unidos y la República Dominicana.
“Hay muchos corazones rotos por la partida de un gran comunicador, un trabajador de televisión y la radio honesto, transparente, objetivo y equilibrado que siempre rindió culto a un periodismo televisivo de avanzada y no comprometido”, dijo el mercadologo.
Pidió a la comunidad honrar la memoria de Ramón Aníbal como un referente ejemplar de la dominicanidad fuera de la patria y llamó a la juventud a reeditar la historia y la trayectoria de los grandes entre los dominicanos que sobresalen en los Estados Unidos.
El CDP lamentó la muerte a destiempo de Ramón Aníbal Ramos, diciendo que el ícono dominicano de la comunicación en Nueva York y su país natal, había cumplido 75 años de edad y estaba sufriendo de problemas cardíacos.
La seccional del CDP manifestó sus condolencias a su esposa, señora Ana viuda Ramos, sus hijos y demás familiares residentes aquí y en República Dominicana. Tenía más de 50 años de ejercicio en la locución destacándose en sus inicios como narrador deportivo en su pueblo natal, luego sobresalió como locutor musical y finalmente presentador de televisión.
El secretario general de la filial del CDP Erasmo Chalas Tejeda hablando en nombre del colegio de periodistas de Nueva York, dijo que la comunicación pierde un maestro, cuya labor en la ciudad de los rascacielos llenó de prestigio y orgullo a la República Dominicana.
