Latin Music Tours 2024 reúne en Punta Cana a populares artistas de RD y Colombia
Artistas de Colombia y República Dominicana convirtieron a Punta Cana durante el fin de semana en la capital de la música latina.
El Barceló Bávaro Grand Resort fue el escenario que entre jueves y domingo recibió la cartelera de populares agrupaciones que protagonizaron la edición 23 del Festival Latin Music Tours 2024.
En tiempos en los que la música urbana domina las propuestas artísticas en los escenarios, el Latin Music se dio el lujo de priorizar la música tropical, de manera específica salsa, merengue y bachata.
Durante las tres noches, los salseros colombianos Grupo Niche y Willy García, por separado, se unieron a los dominicanos Sergio Vargas, Chiquito Team Band, Ala Jazá, Luis Vargas, Krisspy, El Blachy y Lomiel.
Durante la noche de cierre, que se extendió hasta la madrugada del domingo en Barceló Bávaro Convention Center, el popular merenguero Sergio Vargas recibió un reconocimiento especial por su trayectoria artística, una iniciativa de Quepe Music & Events, organizadora del Latin Music; Barceló Grand Resort y la Academia Dominicana de Periodistas (Adopae).
“Agradezco mucho este reconocimiento y anticipo que estará ubicado en el mismo lugar en el que está colocada la estatuilla del Latin Grammy que recibí hace poco tiempo”, expresó Vargas.
Sergio ofreció un show en base al ritmo que ha defendido desde su trinchera en Villa Altagracia, de donde salió hace poco más de cuatro décadas en busca de un sueño que en el trayecto forjó en base al merengue.
“Si algún día la ves”, “La quiero a morir”, “Dile”, “La ventanita”, “Ni tú ni yo” y decenas de títulos más componen un repertorio que no para de crecer hasta la presente década.
Hace tres años, con su disco “Es merengue, ¿algún problema?”, Sergio ganó la categoría de “Mejor álbum de merengue y/o bachata” de los Latin Grammy, que entregó la Academia Latina de la Grabación en Las Vegas.
Otro artista reservado para la noche de cierre fue el salsero colombiano Willy García, quien repitió en Barceló Bávaro el éxito que logró en la capital dominicana, en Hard Rock Café Santo Domingo, en marzo pasado. Él celebra en sus 30 años de carrera musical que acumula tras su paso por las legendarias agrupaciones Grupo Niche y Son de Cali,
“Me emociona”, “Mujer de novela”, “Gotas de lluvias”, “Te amo”, “A prueba de fuego”, “Etnia”, “Tengo ganas de ti”, “La llave de mi corazón”, “Buenaventura y Caney”, “Analizando”, “Eres”, “Solo tú” y “Han cogido la cosa”, entre otros, forman parte del repertorio de García.
En cambio, Luis Vargas tomó el escenario de Barceló Bávaro hasta la madrugada del domingo con sus clásicos temas de la bachata, entre ellos “Volvió el dolor”, “Loco de amor”, “Los últimos”, “Yo no muero en mi cama” y “Veneno”.
Su carrera inició el 19 de marzo en 1982, en Montecristi, donde grabó sus dos primeros temas “con el solo sueño de un cantor de cantar canciones de amor y penas, pero jamás pensé ser un artista de esta gama, que un día estaría celebrando una larga trayectoria de una carrera exitosa y ver este grandioso día, dando gracias a Dios por todo”, ha dicho quien se hace llamar “El Rey Supremo de la Bachata”.
La noche del sábado, la joven Erika Lane fue la encargada del “opening” con el tema “Trending”.

La segunda noche del Latin Music Tours, el viernes, incluyó a Chiquito Team Band, Alá Jazá y al legendario Grupo Niche.
Los colombianos eran la atracción internacional y conformaron una sólida presentación a base de sus populares temas, como “La negra”, “Busca por dentro”, “En el mismo lugar”, “Hagamos lo que diga el corazón” y “Una aventura”.
Niche heredó el legado de su icónico Jairo Varela (fallecido en 2012), quien le dio personalidad musical a la agrupación y que ahora descansa en las voces de Álex Torres, quien se integró en el 2017; Alejandro Iñigo, quien lo hizo en el 2019; Luis Araque, que se sumó en el 2017; y Fito Echeverría, quien ocupó la posición en el 2021.
Antes de Niche le tocó el turno, desde la ciudad de Jarabacoa, de Alá Jazá, quien se ha ganado un espacio en la vertiente merenguera de más vitalidad en ese género en los últimos tiempos.
La inauguración del Latin Music Tours fue el jueves, con la participación de los merengueros típicos Krisspy y El Blachy, en una fiesta realizada en la discoteca de Barceló Bávaro.
