Entidades trabajarán unidas para impulsar la competitividad del sector transporte
SANTO DOMINGO. El Consejo Nacional de Competitividad (COMPETITIVIDAD), la Autoridad Portuaria Dominicana (PORTUARIA), el Instituto Nacional de Tránsito y Transporte Terrestre (INTRANT) y la Comisión Nacional de defensa de la Competencia (PRO-COMPETENCIA) trabajarán conjuntamente las políticas institucionales vinculadas a los temas de intermodalidad, competencia y productividad necesarios para facilitar el comercio y las exportaciones.
Los directivos de las instituciones firmaron un convenio de cooperación que también persigue la generación e intercambio de datos estadísticos, buenas prácticas, documentos y conocimientos técnicos; formulación de estrategias conjuntas que faciliten los objetivos establecidos en la Estrategia Nacional de Desarrollo (END), y la creación de espacios de diálogos entre los sectores públicos y privados que permita la discusión y análisis de logísticas que impulsen el comercio,
La firma del convenio reunió en el salón ASISA de COMPETITIVIDAD al director ejecutivo de esta entidad, Rafael Paz; la directora del INTRANT, Claudia de los Santos; la presidenta del Consejo de ProCompetencia, Yolanda Martínez, y el director de PORTUARIA, Víctor Gómez Casanova.
Paz expresó que “para ser más competitiva República Dominicana requiere de un transporte moderno, ágil y eficiente. Modernizar y fortalecer el sistema de transporte es la meta, para hacer más eficiente la cadena logística y mejorar el clima de negocios. Esta coordinación interinstitucional es clave para convertir la República Dominicana en el hub logístico del Caribe, lo que se traducirá en mejores costos para exportadores y consumidores. Esto es prioridad esencial en la agenda de COMPETITIVIDAD”.
La presidenta de ProCompetencia, Yolanda Martínez, afirmó que es muy importante para la institución que encabeza fortalecer los vínculos con las instituciones del Estado, “pues debemos tener todos como línea transversal en
nuestras acciones el transporte, para diseñar políticas públicas, que aseguren los principios de libre y sana competencia. Es muy importante que nuestros compañeros de Competitividad, de Autoridad Portuaria, del INTRANT nos permitan colaborar en la formación de una cultura de competencia”.
La educación vial es medular en este acuerdo, por lo cual la directora de INTRANT, Claudia de los Santos, saludó su rubricación pues permitirá a las instituciones firmantes, realizar investigaciones conjuntas, mejorar la productividad del país, promover el clima de negocios y generar una articulación exitosa de los sectores productivos, tanto en el ámbito público como privado.
“Con este acuerdo estamos dando pleno cumplimiento al artículo 15 de la Ley 63-17, que establece la articulación de políticas en la Administración Pública y ordena al INTRANT unificar su accionar con las áreas sectoriales de la Administración Pública, centralizada o descentralizada, cuyas competencias se vinculan con sus objetivos y acciones”, enfatizó de los Santos.
El director ejecutivo de PORTUARIA, Víctor Gómez Casanova, destacó la importancia de esta alianza estratégica que, sin dudas, logrará avances significativos para tener una República Dominicana más competitiva.
“Desde el inicio de mi gestión he expresado mi visión sobre las oportunidades que tiene nuestro país para ser el hub del Caribe. Este es un paso de avance hacia este propósito, puesto que se trata de un esfuerzo multisectorial que necesita del trabajo y la colaboración de todos”.
El convenio se encamina a convertir a la República Dominicana en un centro de distribución de la región del Caribe, así como el desarrollo de la COMPETITIVIDAD de los sectores de transporte involucrados.
