San Juan de la Maguana.- La diputada Lucía Medina Sánchez, presentó sus memorias legislativas correspondientes al período agosto 2015-2016, en las que destacó su intenso trabajo legislativo y los resultados de los programas sociales, puestos en marcha, al servicio de esa ciudad.
La presidenta de la Cámara de Diputados aseguró que en este período presentó, de manera directa o como co-proponente, 37 leyes y resoluciones que con su aprobación contribuyeronal bienestar del país, especialmente de su ciudad natal, San Juan de la Maguana en la provincia San Juan.
Dijo que durante el año legislativo impulsó el reconocimiento de personalidades de la vida nacional en los ámbitos culturales, educativos, artísticos, de la medicina científica y la comunidad dominicana radicada en el extranjero; específicamente en los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica, ‘’dirigidas todas a exaltar lo mejor de nuestra dominicanidad’’, detalló la congresista.
“Estos trabajos legislativos produjeron en mí grandes emociones, no por haber sido la proponente delos mismos, sino más bien, porque en ellas se estaban reconociendo en vida a hombres y mujeres que destacan por su valentía, entrega, apego y amor por esta patria de todos. Pero, como todo en la vida, hubo una que generó más emociones que otras y esta fue, el reconocimiento a un hijo prominente de esta, nuestra patria chica (San Juan), y me refiero al Dr. José Joaquín Puello Herrera”.
La legisladora rindió cuentas ante cientos de militantes peledeístas, funcionarios locales, legisladores, empresarios, dirigentes comunitarios, religiosos e invitados especiales convocados a la sede del Centro Universitario Regional del Oeste (CURO-UASD) en el municipio de San Juan de la Maguana.
La licenciada Medina Sánchez precisó, además, que sus trabajos sociales fueron ejecutados través de la Fundación de Mujeres para el Desarrollo de San Juan, con más de 14 años operando para reducir una deuda social con los habitantes de San Juan.
“Desde FUMUDESJU o ASODEMUSA como se conocía antes de la trasformación social de la institución, se han brindado en este sexenio un promedio de 140 mil consultas generales a hombres y mujeres de escasos recursos y cerca de 25 mil niños; totalizando sólo en el renglón de consultas, los servicios más demandados como: pacientes con traumas, dermatitis, enfermedades diarreicas, infecciones urinarias, hipertensión arterial, entre otras”.
La legisladora y hoy presidenta de la Cámara de Diputados aseguró que, en consultas y tratamientos odontológicos, se dieron respuesta a 160 mil pacientes, a través de la unidad odontológica de la fundación.
Sólo a mujeres en edades reproductivas se les practicaron unas 32 mil consultas, dirigidas a la prevención del cáncer cérvico uterino y mamario, afirmó.
“Como pueden observar, nuestra meta es conjurar o palear la gran demandada de atención médica en la provincia, que muchas veces desborda la capacidad de respuesta en nuestros centros tradicionales de salud. “
