Diario Libre entrega Premio Hombre y Mujer del Año
Santo Domingo.- El periódico Diario Libre reconocióla noche de este martes a los 48 nominados a la novena versión del Premio Hombre y Mujer del Año, galardón que se entrega desde el 2006 a quienes realizan una labor altruista en beneficio de República Dominicana.
La voz central del acto estuvo a cargo del director de Diario Libre, Adriano Miguel Tejeda, quien resaltó que hay que decir lo que cada uno hace, no por vanidad propia sino para que aparezca alguien en la calle que lo imite.
“Tiene valor la ayuda grande o pequeña que ustedes le dan. Aquí tenemos gente que desde la música popular o clásica, deportes, desde la cultura, desde la medicina, una cabina de locución, recogiendo animales en las calles… de cualquier manera nos da un ejemplo a imitar y una conducta a seguir”.
“Con el premio Hombre y Mujer del Año lo que pretendemos es que la población dominicana sepa que tiene a donde acudir cuando tiene un problema, que hay fundaciones que le pueden ayudar. Lo que queremos, como lo hemos dicho siempre, es elevar a categoría de símbolo no solo a ustedes sino lo que ustedes hacen, que las obras hablen por ustedes y que el país crezca cada día en bondad”, finaliza el director de Diario Libre.
En el cóctel, celebrado en el restaurante Taboo Bamboo, los nominados recibieron un certificado de reconocimiento de manos de Tejada en compañía del vicepresidente del Grupo Diario Libre, Manuel Arturo Pellerano, y la vicepresidente comercial, Angie Vega.
Entre las nominadas al Premio se encuentran: Gianni Paulino, Verónica Sención, Olga Altman, Rosa A. Gómez, Josefina Rodríguez, Magdalena Cruz, Fior D’Aliza Taveras, Nathalie Peña Comas, Leidy Altagracia Jiménez, Evelyn Peña Comas y María Isabel Serulle.
Asimismo, Ana Simó, Cruz Leyda Álvarez, Jael Uribe, Laura Lucía Jiménez, Elisa Morato, Lourdes Rosalía Carvajal, Amantina Taveras, Josefina Mercedes de Jesús, Wanda Genao, Omayra Álvarez, y María Magdalena Rosario (Doña Milena).
El grupo de nominados está integrado también por Octavio Dotel, Fernando Gómez, Juan Oviedo, Wandy Robles, Edwin Mieses, Silvestre de Moya, Oscar Villanueva, Maximo Miñoso, Alberto Sánchez, el sacerdote Rogelio Cruz, Héctor Acosta (El torito), Tomás de Santis Medina y Carlos Valdez.
Así como Daniel Sánchez, Julio A. Penzo, Reinaldo Infante, Víctor Atallah, Trajano Vidal, Manuel Solano (Manny), Juan Manuel Rosario, Nelson Gutiérrez, Ángel Rafael Medina, Luis Paniagua, Julio Urbaez, Luis Santiago Arias y Pedro Martínez.
Con la entrega del Premio Hombre y Mujer del Año, Diario Libre asume el compromiso de elevar a categoría de símbolo a un hombre y a una mujer como una manera de que los dominicanos y las dominicanas se inspiren a realizar una buena labor en favor de sus compatriotas.
En los próximos días, un comité de cinco personas, presidido por el director de Diario Libre, valorará a 10 finalistas de los que saldrán seleccionados el Hombre y la Mujer del Año 2014. El premio será entregado durante una cena de gala y quienes resulten ganadores recibirán una estatuilla y saldrán en la portada del periódico impreso.
En el 2013, los seleccionados fueron el sacerdote Gregorio Alegría Armendáriz y la ingeniera Francina Hungría.
