Pro Consumidor recupera paquetes de Caripack e inicia entrega a sus propietarios
SANTO DOMINGO. Pro Consumidor informó que fueron recuperados 1,100 bienes propiedad de consumidores que se encontraban bajo un embargo practicado a la empresa Caribbean Ocean Corp. (Caripack), por lo que convoca a los usuarios afectados a retirar sus paquetes en la sede principal de la institución.
La entidad estatal sostuvo que la lista de los bienes recuperados puede ser consultada en la página www.proconsumidor.gob.do, y que la entrega se realiza en horario de lunes a viernes de 2:00p.m. a 7:00 p.m.
En una comunicación de prensa Pro Consumidor dice que los requisitos exigidos para la entrega de la mercancía es la presentación de un documento de identidad personal y el comprobante de pago con el que se efectuó la compra.
El organismo gubernamental afirmó que la empresa Caripack mantine vigente su licencia de transportista, por lo que realiza gestiones para entregar las mercancías que se encuentran en Estados Unidos, conforme a los procesos establecidos.
Caripack y Avanex mantenían una litis que afectaba a cientos de personas que utilizaron sus servicios razón por la que intervino Pro Consumidor.
“En este caso, Pro Consumidor reitera su compromiso de acompañar a los demás usuarios afectados hasta tanto recuperen sus bienes o sean resarcidos conforme a la ley”, dice la institución defensora del consumidor.
Sobre los bienes que se encuentran en Estados Unidos y que serían transportados por la empresa Cargamar, Pro Consumidor ha estado en contacto con las autoridades de Protección al Consumidor de ese país, con el objetivo de buscar un mecanismo conjunto que facilite el transporte al país de esas mercancías.
